Why is my wii remote not respon after a couple mins of gameplay?

I am playing COD MWR and after a bit of playing all of a sudden the wii remote and nunchuck buttons or cursor will work. it will get stuck in a position and then stay that way until i remove the batteries and put them back in the batteries are fully charged their rayovac their not battery packs thier actual batteries and ive jad them since the summer and now they stopped workinh since i brought it upstairs where it used to be. Also would my laptop being on cause this. and yes i have synched it.
