Am I the only one who finds "Storm Chasers" totally useless?

Any video footage or even observations of a tornado has the potential to impact scientific research and understanding. If you have experienced being under a tornado warning, you would have noticed these people are reporting live when the local tv stations interrupt their regular programming to bring you the warnings. Storm chasers who are communicating live with local tv stations can save lives because they can see the tornadoes and if they are on the ground. Seeing one on the ground is more serious than a radar indicated tornado. They also provide live video for local tv stations of the storm and what it's doing which can be helpful for people in its path when they are trying to decide what to do. As for the hurricanes, I don't know but I don't live in a hurricane-prone area.
