Why does it get so windy when thunderstorms devolpe in EXTREME heat (over 105 degrees)?

When thunderstorms devolpe in EXTREME heat - not just your everyday mid upper 90's or even 101 degree heat. For example, during the monsoon season in the southwest, everytime a good storm comes into Phoenix or Vegas, they get rocked with 50 mile an hour winds. Even today in Houston, it was 105 degrees (hottest June day EVER) and storms formed, it was unusually windy with the storms - so much so that over 60,000 are right NOW without power.
