Who was raised with real music and old movies?

i grew up in front of the television watching all kinds of old movies and listening to the radio when A M stations used to play music, like the newest songs could be heard. i have NO IDEA how much of the current music sucks because i am at that age when new music all sounds exactly the same to me; and sadly most of it sounds like telephone ringtones! i'm sure that music from the 60's and 70's sounded all the same to my parents, 'cause they actually were around when glen miller was playing... for that matter they were kids when the film industry was starting! i have to admit that i started feeling bad for kids when sampling started to be a big thing, because i feared they'd never hear any new music.
